Community Notes
- On Parking: Please be reminded of the Parking Policy for our neighborhood. Failure to do so causes difficulty for the school buses and may result in all children being picked up and dropped off at the entrance rather than closer to the home. Page 1, Exhibit “C” of the Declaration of Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions for Stephens Grove states. “2. Restricted Activities. The following activities are prohibited within the Properties unless expressly authorized by, and then subject to such conditions as may be imposed by, the Board of Directors: (a) Parking of any vehicles on the streets or thoroughfares within the Properties, or parking of commercial vehicles or equipment, mobile homes, recreational vehicles, boats and other watercraft, trailers, stored vehicles, or inoperable vehicles in places other than the enclosed garages…” Also, the Parking Policy Appendix 1 (a) of the Architectural Design Guidelines for the community states: RESTRICTIONS ON THE PARKING AND STORAGE OF VEHICLES GENERAL The types of vehicles listed in subsections (a) through (o) below may not be parked or stored in open view on residential lots, common area parking spaces, or the public streets of Stephens Grove Community. (a) Except for occasional overflow parking, curbside parking on the street is not permitted. Please park all vehicles in the garage or on the driveway in order to bring your property into compliance with the documents.
- From Waste Connections: We do not follow the same Holiday schedule as the Town of Huntersville. We observe the following three holidays each year: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year's Day. If your pick-up falls on or after one of these days, your service will be delayed by one day. All other holidays will run on normal routes.
- Attention Drivers: You are reminded to SLOW DOWN in the neighborhood- especially after school. There have been many reports lately of drivers of all ages driving entirely too fast on our streets, at all times of the day, even when school buses and small children are present. Please ask yourself if the extra 15 seconds you are saving is worth the risk. Speed limit posted is 25mph.
- Dog and Cat Owners: Please do not let your cats roam free in the neighborhood, and kindly pick up after your dog. Be cognizant that The Town of Huntersville does have a leash law ordinance in effect for dogs and cats. Please do not allow your dogs to relieve themselves on the lawns of other residents, especially without cleaning up. This is not only rude, but damages the lawns that we all take great care in maintaining. Also remember that if you have an invisible fence, please make sure it's working properly and the sign is visible. Residents should try talking to neighbors about problems before calling the proper authorities, but note, if you feel threatened by a loose or nuisance animal, call Animal Control or the Huntersville Police Department. More information on Huntersville ordinance: Animal Ordinance | Huntersville, NC.
- Tennis Court Issues: Pets and wheels of any kind- bikes, tricycles, skates and scooter- are prohibited from the tennis court. The resurfacing of that court is a five- figure expense., and wheels on the court are only going to make that day come sooner than it needs to. And if it comes ahead of the capital plan, we could all end up with a special assessment or on an unnecessarily large dues increase. Pets present a special problem as well and need to be kept off of the court. Teens have been observed lately hanging out on the tennis court and sitting on the net, several at a time, and bouncing. This will ruin the next very quickly, and again be an unnecessary expense to all homeowners. We encourage everyone, including teens, to use the tennis court for play and exercise. Please use the court for that for which it is intended, and remember to clean up after yourselves. Put water bottles, etc., in the trash receptacles near the courts.
