A Letter From The President
August 17, 2009
Neighbors,
Summer is still in full swing, but school has started for some and just around the corner for others. I want to remind everyone that they should always drive slowly through the neighborhood and now especially keep an eye out for children waiting for their school buses.
The Board has continued to meet throughout the summer and over the next couple of months will be preparing next year’s budget. We have several items on our list to review and received a few ideas from the survey. Speaking of the survey, although we were hoping for a higher percentage of returned Surveys (14%), the bottom line was positive and people very much enjoy living in this neighborhood. If you have not turned in your survey, it is not too late. Look for more details in the August Community Newsletter.
I would like to thank the Social Committee for the great work that they do; the Children’s pool party, the July 4th Celebration and the Adult pool party were all well attended and enjoyable (there were actually people swimming in the pool).
The summer has continued to bring us rain and some nice light shows. I encourage everyone to review the condition of your lawn and maintain it by mowing, edging and weeding per the community guidelines.
I have received phone calls and e-mails regarding litter (mostly plastic bottles) at our entranceways and on one occasion, broken beer bottles in the pool parking lot. When I drove out to investigate one of our neighbors had already cleaned up the broken glass. Please accept my thanks for doing this clean up. It was also reported that there was some graffiti on the Children’s Playscape. Note this is our entire neighborhood and there is no need for this to happen. It also costs you as a homeowner as we absorb the cost of clean up.
I hope you all enjoy the rest of your summer. Please continue to reach out to your neighborhood blockheads and Board members with your questions or concerns.
Visit the Stephens Grove WEB Site for up to date information on what’s going on in your community.
Thank you, Bob Brethen
